This journal is friends only, except for seiyuu event reports. You can PM to ask about being added, but truthfully, these days, if I do not know who you are, I won't be adding you. Sorry. (You're not missing anything, anyhow. ^_^)

My road to Granrodeo at Zepp Tokyo

So, before diving into my whirlwind trip to Japan in February, I need to do some 'splaining as to WHY I felt it necessary to fly halfway around the world for 4 days in Tokyo (and why I'll be back in Tokyo and Osaka in June/July)....

This has been a month in the writing, thanks to work business, and, really, truly, unless you want to see me babble like someone a quarter my age, you might just want to skip. Consider yourself forewarned. ^_^ (it's also long as heck)

Whence obsession.... )

Sengoku Musou event

I did, sometime last year, promise to write up the last day of my October trip … and slacker that I am, I went off to Japan *again* without doing so. I've also promised to write up at least the weekend portion of that trip, so I really should get this bit done first, though it's going to be somewhat perfunctory.

Use the wayback machine to go back to October 16, 2011 )

Next up: whence obsession?

Massive media sale

I've put up a veritable ton of books, graphic novels, comics, manga, dvds, cds, video games and more for sale. Probably 75% of what I own, overall, as I've decided there's not much I can't live without. Included are some hard to get or out of print items (particularly comics and import CDs).

I've put the list up as a spreadsheet on Google Docs 'cause it'll be easier to track on hold/sold items there.

If you're local, I'll take pretty much any form of payment, including cash and personal checks. Otherwise, paypal and money orders are your friends.

As there's no pictures, I imagine folks will have questions, so feel free to ask away. Please read the info tab.

(there's 10 tabs altogether)

Feel free to share the link. Please. ^_^

Next round of stuff for sale: Manga, art books, B's Log magazines

This is pretty much almost all of my manga collection, and a good chunk of my artbooks (and some duplicate B's Logs I have). I'd really rather not do ebay, so I'm hoping to sell as much as I can before I resort to that.

Here's the goods )

Rocket Punch day 2 ... aka Best. Valentine's. Ever.

Bullet points again for now; must nab food and a nap before flying out tomorrow.

o.o my 13th row seat turned out to be 5th row, dead center, thanks to the stage configuration. *love* It's a good thing my 10th row seat hadn't been there -- I would've gotten myself into trouble. ^_^

Black Velvet opened this time, and again I was utterly mesmerized by Morimori ... particularly his, er, tight shiny jeans. (naughty, yes I know!). And Nishioka's hair was frighteningly high and spiky, but gah, so cute when he's just a few rows away from me!

Then TakaHiroki, who mixed his set up a little and was still loads of fun.

Then Nao-kun ... who didn't lose clothes this time, but did wear the cutest poncho, which flew around him as he sang and whirled ... and he did all this in platform shoes. Note: Planetarium is a gorgeous song.

Then Two Hearts -- yes, I continued to be enthralled by Morimori. Not only is he just utterly gorgeous now, he's taken a few lessons from Taniyama, clearly, and can stalk the stage in the sexiest of ways. Mmmmmm. Badly wanted the rose he tossed into the front row. I didn't use to like Two Hearts too much (the Ganbare Live didn't impress me), but damn, they're good now and I wish I could make the live in May....

Mi-chan had the misfortune to hold the gap between Two Hearts and GranRodeo, but his set was fun -- even if he talked too much ... though I swear I heard him say Morimori would be joining him on stage in a play in June. o.O

And then ... my Valentine's present to myself: GranRodeo. OMFG, Taniyama. Too. damned. hawt. for. words. He's shaved some of the hair on one side, and it looks freakin' awesome on him. And, well, had I been second row, I might've been tempted to crawl forward and lick the fake tattoo (a pair of lips) off his neck. and his voice ... *puddles*. He's such an amazing singer. And he played the audience so well -- someday, I swear I'll get to a full GranRodeo concert. Their five songs were just not enough.

The guys all discussed chocolate during the "encore." Wish I knew what Nao-kun said that made everyone just completely crack up. I do know he made me think of Bunta when he was going "mmmm." Heh. Didn't land any of the towels that got tossed into the audience, and, well, the girl who got the shirt Taniyama stripped out of ... lucky bitch! ^_^ (and mmmmm, Morimori playing touchy-feely with both Nishioka and Taniyama -- must get mind out of gutter).

Want to come back next year, oh yes, if humanly possible (GranRodeo should be there again).

Sayonara....

Rocket Punch, Day 1, bullet points

Note to self: Next time you anticipate standing up at a concert for four hours, don't walk from Aoyama to Harajuku to Shibuya. Ow!

Iwata Mitsuo ... still not much of a singer, but has a cute rear. And he was more than happy to show it off during one song. Much butt wriggling. Hee!

Hirakawa Daisuke ... Senbonzakura sings! Er, well, I only know him as Ace and Senbonzakura really, and I don't get the fuss (and still don't care for his singing, alas).

Ah, the raison d'etre for today's show for me: Black Velvet. And boy howdy, they didn't disappoint! Morimori looks AWESOME. All lean and hawt and, uh, has he been working out his chest and arms? Yum. And, finally, Nishioka! He's so tiny and amazing and I'm so glad to finally see him on stage! Note to Morimori: showing off the band's official bunny and blowing kisses to us gals kinda blows the hard rock image. ^__^

Takahashi Hiroki -- Finally some songs I know! He's all cute 'n dimply and has so much fun on stage he's fun to watch and listen to.

And eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Nao-kun! He's like a ray of sunshine with a phenomenal voice. And he kept peeling off layers of clothes, including tossing his hat into the audience ... with its Hinoe-feathers and all. Mmmmm.

Two Hearts! Better than I remember ... still transfixed by Morimori's physique! XDDDD

And more eeeee -- Bokutachi no Anniversary, finally I get to hear it with Nao-kun and Morimori. Happy happy happy!

Must run now and crash for tomorrow's show will be long and loud!

Haruka Matsuri in bullet points

Not much time, but here goes:

Picked up pamphlet, took one look at Okiayu's tight, white satin suit (that clings in ALL the right places) and thought, "wouldn't it be keen if he wore that on stage?"

Cue opening of first Sunday show (I'm second row, to the right of the stage), where "Akuram" comes on stage during the intros, in said white suit, with the addition of a blindingly gold shirt. Yay!

Nao-kun singing and owning the stage!

Takamichi and Tomomasa playing jan-ken-pon until Tomomasa quits in disgust. Hee!

Inoue-san Inoue-san Inoue-san, when you are in Hisui/Tomomasa mode, I become a pile of semi-sentient goo only capable of going "bibble." And you were in fine mode, blowing kisses everywhere....

*dies* Okiayu adds a black and gold feather boa to the suit, using it as Akuram's wolf stole. We're all giggling so loud as he gesticulates with it, who has a clue what he's saying?

*dies again* The "talk show" corner, with Kawamura Maria and Okiayu as guests. We find out that Okiayu really, really, no REALLY likes curry (no surprise, really) as he lists it as two answers, including the one thing he can't quit. Ha! We also delve into whether he always wears a bathrobe after showering (not sure, but I think the answer was, so long as it's not hot). And his favourite place in Kyoto is Kurama-jinja. And d'awww, he said Nao-kun was the person he was most hoping to see in the cast).

More feather boas! This time red and pink/white, to match the black suit Okiayu's changed into. And yum on an Akuram song.

Seki Tomokazu and his silly "flying" on stage (his Haruka 4 character has wings). *busu busu busu*

Miyata and Nakahara doing their goodbye bit as if they were praying at a shrine. Cute!

*dead on the floor* Inoue is wearing the black and gold feather boa and he and Okiayu are skipping down the runway arm in arm to say goodbye ... and skip back up the runway. *dead* (such bad thoughts they make me think!)

Encore goodbyes. Dear god, Okiayu's found an Akuram mask to go with the feather boa. *dead yet again*

*cackles* I will never, EVER be able to watch Harutoki or play any of the variants with Akuram in them without hearing Okiayu go "Woooo!" (with rising intonation). Kind of the Team Oni call during the goodbyes.

And, heh, every time someone in the audience yells kawaii at the female seiyuu, the guys all pick it up and say it too ... and Inoue gets the last word in. Then the female fans do it to Seki, the guys have their say, and Inoue turns to Seki and goes "Sugoku kawaii!" Thought Seki was going to have a heartattack right then and there. ^_~

Waved my hands off at Okiayu, who finished up on my side of the stage. No clue if he noticed or not (my gut says yes, but you never know).

Second show ... Okiayu comes out in the black suit this time and gets the crowd going in a chant of "Oni oni oni," and thus declares that this is the Oni Matsuri!

The white suit comes back ... this time with a blue feather boa (did he borrow that from Suwabe, or vice versa?) for Hakuryu. Hee!

He sang better the first time, but still very good.

Hee! Haruka 2 play -- the oni turn all goodie goodie. We are all now Akuram's kazoku. Heeeeee!

This time around for the thank yous, Team Oni has all the feather boas -- one for each! Still, Okiayu and Inoue skip down the run way -- and when Okiayu seems as if he's going to get away on the way back, Inoue catches up and slips his arm through his so they can skip together. (naughty thoughts are very naughty thoughts around now, involving white satin and feather boas, yep)

And I need to run now. ^__^

Books up for grabs

My mantra (rather than resolution) for this year is "simplify." It may not always be the easiest or most straight-forward path, but that's my goal. To that end, in my perpetual quest to remove items from my life, I have some things looking for new homes. If you're local, everything's free -- we'll just need to arrange a time and place to hand the items over. If you're not local, I just ask for shipping costs.

I've unlocked this post, so feel free to share with folks not on my flist.

My father's oil paintings

My grandfather was a musician (flamenco guitar) and oil painter, and my dad inherited both talents (they skipped me all together!) His paintings are all over my parents' house and he's done commissions (portraits, still lifes, murals) and consignment sales for years, and finally decided it's time to move online. So, my mom started an Etsy store for him. There's just four paintings there now, but there'll hopefully be more before too long -- probably more animals and some seaside painting.

Trip so far, in bullet points

Less than 5 minutes left on the ticker, so just a brief summary (I'll write up the rest when I get back).

Fun in the heat )
